Bereavement music plays a very important part in a memorial service, especially when a child or baby is involved. Loving and fitting songs mean so much to family and friends, as music helps heal the soul, gives one time to reflect and grieve, and hopefully gives hope for the future.
To help make musical selection a little bit easier, following is list of song choices especially charming to honor the departed loved youth or baby. While traditional memorial service song choices may also be fitting, some music just for children or babies can be especially touching and appropriate.

Music Especially Dear for the Memorial of a Baby or Toddler
- Twinkle Twinkle Little Star - available in various forms and lovely played live on piano.
- Jesus Loves Me - a popular children's hymn.
- All Through the Night - a beautiful old Irish tune with words by Sir Harold Boulton (1859 - 1935) (Sample lyrics - " Sleep my child and peace attend thee, All through the night. Guardian angels God will send thee, All through the night.")
Many of these and other bereavement songs are available for download online on iTunes or other music download sites. Another place to look for funeral songs are among a child's own music or among favorite music of loved ones. If the family belongs to a church, the music director is sure to have sensitive suggestions. Likewise, funeral directors will most likely be able to help.
